Recap: Mezo in Denver

Recap: Mezo in Denver

The Mezo team enjoyed a productive and exciting week connecting with the Denver community. Despite the majority of folks nursing minor cases of altitude sickness, everyone was in positive spirits and high energy.

To kick off the week, Mezo COO Carolyn Reckhow joined a panel alongside friend of Mezo and Acre.fi CEO Laura Wallendal. The duo discussed various topics, including sustainable Bitcoin yield, user accessibility, and the history of “Bitcoin Season 2.”

Mezo Founding Contributor Yogi delivered sharp insights on Bitcoin’s interoperability during Wrapped’s Multichain Day panel. Bitcoin interoperability is here—but what does it truly mean, and what assumptions are we making as users?

Lastly, Carolyn discussed Bitcoin scalability at the annual Bitcoin Renaissance event, diving into the role of platforms like Mezo in its future. 👀

L2 Roast, Bitcoin Queens, and Mile High Brunch

Mezo's presence in Denver solidified the 'L2 Roast' as a can’t-miss event. Few platforms provide an unfiltered group dialogue on the state of the industry, Bitcoin, and beyond. It was a no-BS shootout from people building real products for real people—no grifts allowed.

Thanks to our friends at Bitcoin Layers and BOB for helping put on such a memorable event.

Following the roast was Bitcoin Queens, which featured team members from Acre, Mezo, BOB, Botanix Labs, and Tizz. Panelists gravitated towards 'scaling' as a topic, and it was refreshing to hear from an all-female panel about market developments in Bitcoin scaling.

Without much time in between, we were back at the Sugar Rino for a Mile High Bitcoin Brunch alongside our friends at Reown, Magic Eden, and Mellow. Attendees enjoyed casual conversations and breakfast bites (who knew Shrimp & Grits was so good in the Rockies?) while discussing the current market landscape and what's on the docket for Bitcoin apps in 2025.

PupPal at ETHDenver

The highlight of the week was our four-legged friends at ETHDenver. With special help from Lifeline Puppy Rescue, we provided a relaxing space for some much-needed puppy time during the main conference event.

Takeaways

At this point, you've likely read many "ETHDenver takeaways" recap lists and analyses. So to keep the list short, the one key focus from all the conversations was that Bitcoiners want more. BTC has proved itself in the largest financial markets in the world as a store of value asset. What's next is tapping into that value; people are ready to do more than look at their cold wallet balance.

Mezo is excited to deliver on that with Borrow and mUSD, offering Bitcoin holders as low as 1% borrow rates against BTC collateral. Join the waitlist today to make sure you don't miss the launch:

BTC Vegas... Soon 👀

If you couldn’t make it to Denver, join us in Las Vegas for Bitcoin Vegas, from May 27th-29th. Without giving too much away, trust us—you won’t want to miss it.

We're always excited to connect with the Mezo community in person and discuss upcoming plans. If you ever have any questions on IRL activations or Mezo community activities, hit up the team in Discord or reach out at info@mezo.org.
