Mezo Community Hackathon: SocialFi Wave

We’re thrilled to partner with Drip for an 8-day Mezo community hackathon! In a showcase of creativity, teams can submit their projects for a chance at the prize pool of 400k mats and a $5k grant to continue building the SocialFi app.

From November 4th - November 13th, we're welcoming teams and individuals to share their projects that utilize the Drip API and matsFi Discord Economy. If you’ve been involved in the Mezo Discord, this hackathon is no surprise as we are constantly looking for ways to elevate the matsFi experience.

A mats Primer

mats are points that you can actually use. They can be earned from locking assets in Mezo, or they can be tipped, shared, and gambled within our Discord.

mats are the lifeblood of Discord (and soon Testnet) activity, a rewards system that recognizes power users and creates a positive flywheel of activity. More activity with mats means more users and fun, resulting in more mats activity, ad infinitum.

We're thrilled to add the Community Hackathon to the matsFi economy, giving our users another way to stand out and build the Mezo community from the ground up.

Themes for Building

The hackathon focuses on six dynamic themes, so there’s something for every creative mind:

1. Meme Factories: Bring Mezo culture together with DRiP's capabilities to make any.
2. Dashboards: Build dashboards that bring community activities to life, presenting real-time insights and data so the community can easily track key metrics.
3. Social Games: Design games that take collaboration and community building within Mezo to the next level.
4. Engagement Analytics: Create tools that track and analyze community participation, engagement, and activity to reward top contributors.
5. NFT Reward Systems: Develop NFT-based reward structures that gamify contributions and milestones within the Mezo community.
6. Discord Activities: Create a variety of engaging activities and DRiP applications for the Mezo Discord. Expand on the classic poker games or move beyond into something more creative!

Timeline & Key Dates

• Registration Closes on November 3rd
  Join as an individual or a team (up to 5 members) to secure your spot.
• Hackathon Kickoff: November 4th
  Meet your fellow builders, learn about Mezo and Drip APIs, and brainstorm project ideas with mentors.
• Project Submission: November 11th
  Submit a wireframe or working demo with project documentation and a 5-minute video walkthrough to showcase your concept.
• Selection & Judging: November 11th - November 13th
  A panel of judges will evaluate all submissions on innovation, execution, and Drip API integration. The top 3 projects will be announced and rewarded.
• Winners Announcement: November 13th
  Tune in for a live event to see which projects will come to life on Mezo Discord. Points up for grabs:
• Implementation & $5K Grant: November 15th - December 13th
  Following the hackathon, winning projects will be launched on Mezo Discord for community interaction. The project generating the most user activity by December 13th will secure an additional $5,000 grant!

FAQs and Rules

• Eligibility: Open to all individuals and teams up to five members.
• Project Criteria: Projects must integrate with Drip APIs and be built within the hackathon.
• Prizes: The top 3 teams will receive points (150K, 100K, and 50K), and the $5K grant will go to the project driving the most engagement by December 13th.

Whether you have minimal technical experience or you’re a seasoned DeFi builder, this community hackathon will give you a chance to meet like-minded community members. And who knows, maybe you'll build the next big on-chain social experience :)
